The Senior Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing the daily relationship with Target Marketplace selling Partners with a focus on growth, profitability, and market share expansion. This role blends strategic management with analytical rigor. Key Responsibilities: Lead Strategic Activations: Full accountability for a book of high-volume, high growth, selling Partners spanning multiple categories. Drive seasonal planning, guest & assortment strategy led selection expansion; strategize & activate Partner Playbook in improving listing quality — content, attributes, imagery, pricing, inventory, reviews, monetization & services — to enhance GMV, VP, market share and guest conversion. People Management: Lead a team of 6-8 strategic account managers to deliver on topline & bottom-line business goals for the assigned business unit. Coach and Develop teams to delivers joint business plans with Partners, including assortment expansion, seasonal activation strategies, events & promotional calendars, and category growth roadmaps. Oversee operational readiness and compliance: track inventory health, fulfillment readiness, shipping and return logistics, and adoption of Partner/fulfillment services. Strategic Category Leadership: Act as Partner advocate internally: build strong relationships with Partner leadership; collaborate with internal stakeholders (Site Merchandising, Guest & Assortment Strategy, Marketplace New Business Development, Marketplace Support & Capability Development, Marketplace Operations & Services) to resolve issues, influence tools and processes, and support Partner growth. Promote and drive Partner adoption of Marketplace programs (fulfillment services, promotional events, marketing support) and align Partner activities with Marketplace-wide seasonal or category initiatives. Work autonomously with high ownership and accountability; manage complex accounts in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Consult on Financial Planning : Ensure accuracy in forecasting, alignment to goals, and accountability to results for your categories. Influence & Executive Presence : Share strategies, updates, and performance clearly with leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners to align and drive impact. Qualifications • Four-year degree or equivalent experience required. • 6+ years of experience in merchandising, inventory management, forecasting, or product selection (including open-to-buy management). • 3+ years of eCommerce experience; marketplace/3P category expertise & leadership strongly preferred. • Proven business acumen with a track record of building industry relationships and leveraging data analytics to inform decisions. • 3+ years of experience in leadership, managing & developing a high performance team. • Expertise in business planning, forecasting, and defining KPIs to drive execution of business strategy. • Entrepreneurial and performance-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. • Resilient and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring clarity and decisiveness in complex or changing situations. • Strong, succinct communicator that understands audience needs and tailors' messages • A performance-driven individual who demonstrates strong initiative and has superior leadership skills • Experience creating business strategies and delivering growth with Partners • Thrives in ambiguity and able to flex with changing priorities • Strong project management skills preferred • Experience with operational and financial responsibilities • Experience extending existing capabilities and functions globally and/or successfully working within a global team
