Senior Backend Platform Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a highly experienced Backend Platform Engineer to join a team supporting a large-scale conversational and integration platform operating in a complex enterprise environment. This is not a traditional feature-development role. The primary focus is on maintaining platform reliability, investigating complex production issues, and supporting a highly distributed ecosystem of services, integrations, and data flows. You will work in an environment where rare and difficult-to-reproduce production anomalies can occur across multiple interconnected services. Success in this role requires deep expertise in NestJS, Redis, and distributed systems, combined with strong ownership and problem-solving skills. Location:  Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid) This position follows a hybrid working model with  1 day per week onsite presence in Budapest . We are currently considering applicants who are  based in Hungary and eligible to work in Hungary . YOU WILL Support and maintain business-critical backend services built with Node.js, NestJS, and Redis Investigate complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution Analyze logs, traces, monitoring data, and application behavior to diagnose system anomalies Troubleshoot distributed systems, microservices, integrations, and high-volume data flows Support and optimize Redis-based workloads, caching strategies, and platform performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement Participate in on-call rotations and communicate incident impact and resolution plans to stakeholders Contribute to knowledge sharing, observability improvements, and platform stability initiatives YOU HAVE Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and Redis Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting microservice-based architectures Proven experience supporting production systems and managing live incidents Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills Experience with REST API integrations and distributed systems Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices Ability to work independently in complex environments with limited documentation Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders   Nice to Have Terraform BigQuery Event-driven architectures CI/CD pipelines Conversational platforms or chatbot ecosystems AI-enabled platforms and integrations React WHAT YOU WILL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE Access our education library with 250,000+ courses, certifications, and learning resources; Well-being Hub: The global Well-Being Hub connects employees across various facets of well-being: work-life balance, working hours and network growth; We value flexibility – hybrid work and flexible hours help you maintain a healthy work-life balance; We also offer additional benefits such as Employee referral bonus and Company shares program;
